The Debut

To all the readers of this blog, here is a quick introduction, before I get started and post on my pre-MBA experiences.
  • M/27, Indian, presently in Gurgaon
  • Engineering graduate from IIT; GMAT: 690
  • 5 years of work experience when I start MBA
  • Schools applied: Ivey, INSEAD, Tuck and ISB
  • Starting in spring intake (April 08) of 1 year Ivey MBA (London, Canada)
Needless to say, the choice of B-schools where I applied clearly demonstrates a preference for 1 year MBA programs over 2 year ones. This was a conscious choice and also a well researched one. Also, as is evident, at least 3 out of the above 4 are top ranked schools when it comes to general management/strategic consulting. More on the importance of careful research while identifying right schools in a separate post later.

With less than 3 months left before I start, and a whole lot to do in the interim (bank loan, Canada study permit, campus accommodation, etc), the days ahead promise to keep me busy.

Nonetheless, I will try to post regularly and keep things moving.

Cheers!
Avinash
